We chose your hotel primarily because of its location, as we had an important business meeting nearby. Overall, we were truly impressed by the size of the room — for our family, it was a pleasant and unexpected advantage. Everything else was good as well. As I mentioned, we were warmly welcomed by a receptionist who happened to be from our home country, which was especially nice. We also appreciated how attentive and dedicated the staff were during both dinner and breakfast. However, there is one point I would like to mention and kindly suggest for improvement. We were quite surprised by the large number of artificial flowers both in the room and throughout the hotel. In our opinion, this does not add coziness and feels out of place. Although the room was spacious, it lacked warmth and a sense of comfort. It seems that adding thoughtful details — such as artwork, refined decor elements, or more carefully designed touches — could significantly improve the overall atmosphere. The bathroom, unfortunately, also felt less inviting than expected. I truly believe that details make all the difference, and with more attention to them, you could create a much more memorable and refined experience that guests genuinely value.

We cannot say enough about the Hotel Alden! Between the amazing staff, wonderful food, and amazing decor, this property is a must! We cannot wait to return to Zurich or even try another property within this hotel chain.

This hotel is beautiful. Everything is exceptional quality which results in a luxurious stay. The dining area is one of the prettiest you’ll ever see. But the best part is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly and so helpful. They delivered the best service of anywhere we stayed on our European holiday. It is expensive but worth it.

4th to Zurich & always choose Alden. you have seen our honey moon, my daughter Nanxi’s from 2 to years old grown up. and my daughter told me she wants to live here one hundred times. Thanks very much for ur christmas gift & can not wait to here next year.

Breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have had in many years.

The staff there were wonderful and very attentive. The hotel was spotless and in close proximity to the main shopping areas, train and tram. We very much enjoyed having restaurant style breakfast every morning at the hotel and very much felt at home when relaxing in the rooms.

If you are looking for a gem of a hotel in Zurich, waste no time and visit this one. From the moment we entered, we felt welcome as if we were at home. The staff, the bar, the rooms, dinner, and breakfast were excellent. Very nice wine choices. Very close to the center for a leisurely walk. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Definitely a place to come back to.

This quirky hotel had gorgeously comfortable suites and a great location. The staff was almost too friendly, as we missed our train chatting at checkout (though there was another 10 minutes later so no big deal.) Conveniently located for walking downtown, to the lake, or to the train station, it was the perfect location to recover from the flight and then see the town.

Sadly the Wagu Burger had a taste that I was not accustomed to, so I did not like it. However the Pumkin soup was wonderful.

Certainly not a flashy hotel, but rather quiet and understated. Spacious and comfortable rooms ( esp the upgrade to a Master suite) , excellent breakfast options and very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend to others and would definitely stay again.

I honestly think this is a top-tier hotel, providing the best comfort at great value. The staff are very friendly, the room is as spacious as one can imagine and the location is perfect. I will stay at this hotel in every visit to Zurich.

We chose this hotel because of positive reviews and it surpassed all expectations. The hotel welcome set the scene, with receptionist Xilalti greeting us by name with a delicious welcome drink. Nothing was was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make sure all our needs were met, including arranging for our dinner reservation. The room was absolutely lovely. We had a very large suite with high ceilings, elegant furniture and a super comfy bed. I had asked for a down pillow and it was there waiting for me. Great marble bathroom, generous size towels and lovely toiletries as well. The location is great. Super quiet and only about 100m to the lake front for our morning walk. I highly recommend this hotel and will make this our go-to Zurich hotel.

This is my second stay at this hotel and I can honestly say it was an excellent decision to return back.

Everything was great, big thank you to the staff working at reception early morning on September 8th. Found the keys in the room when we couldn't. Thank you so much!!

The entire staff we dealt with were outstanding , and they should be congratulated . My daughter was in a wheelchair , and the staff ensured they were available at all times to assist . Congratulations to them all.

This is a lovely old-style hotel situated a two minute walk from the lake. We had a Master Suite with a balcony which was huge - bedroom, bathroom with walkin shower and jacuzzi bath, living room with balcony, additional toilet and plenty of space. Everything was very comfortable, including the massive super king size bed. Fruit bowl in the living room replenished at our request. What makes this hotel stand out is the outstanding service and friendliness of all the staff. We left each morning for trips and the staff on reception (including Amber who was super friendly and others but I cant recall names) offered us bottles of water for our trip. A couple of evenings when we got in late and couldn't be bothered to to out to eat, we ordered UberEats. Then the staff saw this they suggested bringing us plates and cutlery which was really helpful. All the staff were helpful and friendly making us feel very welcome. Breakfast has a limited selection but there is a variety of cooked eggs... we ordered on different days, eggs benedict, different types of omelet, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and all were cooked to perfection. We had to go to Zurich bus station for our trips and its a CHF 16 ride in an Uber, takes 10 minutes. We also ordered Uber back to the airport for CHF 36. I mention this because the only thing that we found a little irritating is the arranged transfer on arrival from the airport. The hotel had very kindly sent us a a pre arrival email offering to arrange pick from the airport which we accepted. Everything was fine - lovely big cab and driver greet. Except when we arrived the driver charged us CHF 150!! We felt that was extortionate - significantly more than if we had taken a taxi ourselves or booked an Uber. In future, I will remember to ask the price before booking a transfer via a hotel. In general, in Zurich, Uber is the cheapest way to get around unless you take trams or buses - about half the price of regular taxis in the city. Apart from that, our stay at the Alden was lovely and we would happily return.

The stay at Hotel Alden Splügenschloss was just amazing! They upgraded us to an even bigger suite, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The check-in and -out was easy, and accomodated by a refreshing drink. The room was super clean, and very large! I can only recommend this hotel! Definitely one of the best experiences I have ever had!

This hotel was fabulous. The staff is so friendly a. helpful. Amber upgraded us to a large suite. Always right there to assist us. The lady for the breakfast made us a to go breakfast sandwiches a. fruit for our early flight. Room service was excellent. Location is quiet a. easy walk to lake a. sights. We will stay there again for sure as it was such a great experience. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed!!!

Central to everywhere

From beginning to end the stay at Alden was excellent. Staff was very attentive and helpful, from main lobby to the breakfast staff. Our room was beautiful, with a small terrace, nice bedroom and living room, awesome bathroom (shower and tub). Location is very good, close to the lake and attractions. Recommended!

Overall the hotel is high-class level, welcome drink is thoughtful when we get into the hotel. we loved the drink as much fruits and we tasted very fresh. The restaurant place of decoration is elegant. We loved the building decoration and this is the one of history. The room size we booked this is fantastic and everything well prepared and we loved it so much. This is just one thing we feel laborious and helpless when we arrived at the hotel entrance. We ideal the entrance is level but stairsteps here in the entrance. The main point is the most of traveler carrying the luggage and they felt tried after the travel and they don't think to move their big luggage again even her is the few stairsteps.

Thank you so much for the most incredible stay! My husband and I came to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary, and this hotel completely exceeded our expectations! It was the most beautiful hotel in a great location. Ivan and Kaltrina were AMAZING and give us the absolute best service on a daily basis! It’s hard to book a hotel coming from another country, and not knowing what to expect. This hotel exceeded all of our expectations. The cleaning and bar staff were wonderful as well. The only reason I gave our room an 8 rating was because our peep hole in the door was unusable (for safety reasons. I did not like this)

Pleasant a. quiet area to stay. A long walk into the city centre for older travellers. The tram was excellent a. well located near the hotel. The dinner menu was limited in choice a. expensive. The staff made our stay extremely pleasant. As in all hotel rooms inadequate stands for two people’s suitcases therefore using couches a. tables which I feel uncomfortable doing as I respect the furnishings.

Kaltarina made the last days of our honeymoon so memorable and meaningful. From the moment we walked into Hotel Alden, she was beaming with energy and excited to welcome us in. She was very professional yet somehow, made us feel right at home. She was very thorough with explaining the hotel amenities and helping us navigate Zurich public transportation. She gave us multiple restaurant recommendations as well as chocolate recommendations since this was our first time in Zurich. Every morning, the breakfast staff was full of energy, so kind and, attentive to our needs. We were always served in a timely manner and again, felt like we were staying with our own family. Every time we entered the building, reception would stop what they were doing to greet us and make us feel right at home. Hotel Alden exceeded our expectations as a hotel, we are so excited to choose them when we come back to visit.

Our stay was short - just 2 nights - room was outstanding - service was great. My only issue was that one of my wife's bracelet was thrown away - It was in a glass on the cabinet below the TV in the bedroom. It was not very expensive - however we bought it in Italy - the day it disappeared - we talked with the receptionist on duty - we gave them a picture and a detail location where it was last seen in the room. We where told there was only one person in our room that day to make it up and that they would talk to them and get back to us. To date - no one has called or emailed us - The lack of follow up with us is Very Disappointing - when we where told someone would call us.
