Leonardo Hotels celebrates art by launching two new initiatives to support young talent
Berlin, 19. June 2024. Leonardo Hotels has set up two schemes in Warsaw and Dublin to help young artists and the local creative scene.
“Art Lives Here” – taking inspiration from the urban landscape of Warsaw
Leonardo Hotels’ Artists in Residence Programme in Warsaw is being staged for the second time this year. The “Art Lives Here” project offers up-and-coming artists from Europe the opportunity to gain a foothold in the sector. Participants will be accommodated at the stylish NYX Hotel Warsaw by Leonardo Hotels over a period of several weeks in order to draw creative impetuses from the pulsating pace of life in the Polish capital. The hotel features a neo-modern aesthetic look and also has numerous works on display by contemporary artists including Anna Barlik, Norbert Delman, Aleksandra Waliszewska and Mariusz Waras. “Art Lives Here” will turn it into a venue where art is also produced rather than merely shown. This year’s winners are Urszula Śliz from Wrocław, Maria Louceiro from Berlin and Tianjun Li from Helsinki. They will be creating a series of photos inspired by Warsaw during their stay. At the end of the programme, a jury will choose one of these works to become a permanent part of the art exhibition at the NYX Hotel Warsaw.
First “Art Lives” competition at the NYX Hotel Dublin
The NYX Hotel Dublin, which is located in the bohemian quarter of Portobello, will also be hosting its first “Art Lives” competition this year. Budding artists are invited to submit their works. Guests at the hotel will then hold a vote to determine which of the entries will go on long-term display. As well as enjoying the unique chance to see their own work showcased alongside those of luminaries of the Irish art world such as Shane Sutton, Niall Staines, Shane O’Driscoll, Art Loves and Janine Jordon, the winner of the competition will also receive a prize of €1,000 and a two-night stay.
